One of the
first questions audience members often ask comedians is, "Excuse
me, where are the bathrooms?" Thusly relieved, the second most often
asked question is, "Do you guys write all of your own material?"
(To be perfectly honest, this is probably the 9th or 10th most often asked
question after such things as, "How much is a beer here?" and,
"Where did you get those shoes?") The answer is a resounding Yes
(for the most part).
Sure there are some comedians who can afford to pay people to write for
them and there are some comedians who simply steal material from other comedians.
But by and large most comedians do all of their own writing and I like many
comedians also write other things.
